Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Develop new audio-visual industry policies and accelerate the construction of new display and other projects

On October 20, at the press conference of the State Council Information Office, Tao Qing, spokesperson of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and director of the Operation Monitoring and Coordination Bureau, said that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will thoroughly implement the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, adhere to the general tone of seeking progress while maintaining stability, consolidate the foundation for industrial development, accelerate the cultivation of new drivers, and promote the high-quality development of the electronic information manufacturing industry.

Tao Qing mentioned that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will accelerate the implementation of the "Electronic Information Manufacturing Industry 2023-2024 Stable Growth Action Plan" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan") and other relevant policy measures to promote the accelerated recovery of the consumer market, including electronic products.

It is reported that in September this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Finance jointly issued the "Plan". The document mentioned accelerating the cultivation of new growth points for audio-visual consumption, promoting the high-quality development of emerging fields such as vehicle audio-visual and commercial displays, accelerating the cultivation of consumer demand for OLEDTV, MiniLED, 8K, 75-inch and above high-end display products, leading the development of new color TV technologies, and improving profitability.

At the meeting, Tao Qing also mentioned that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will further play its role in promoting investment, accelerate the implementation of major projects, guide the rational layout of industries, and orderly promote the construction of projects in key areas such as integrated circuits, new displays, communication equipment, intelligent hardware, and lithium-ion batteries. Study and formulate a new round of continuing policies to support the development of the audio-visual industry, and implement policy documents in areas such as Beidou applications and smart photovoltaics.
