The list of candidates to be selected for Fujian's 2024 key technological innovation projects has been announced, including Micro LED-related projects

The information published on the website of the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology on July 19 showed that the Fujian Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology organized the application process for key technological innovation and industrialization projects in 2024. After procedures such as unit recommendation, preliminary review of materials, expert review, defense, and conference research, 86 projects were planned to be identified as key technological innovation and industrialization projects in 2024 in Fujian Province.

This includes the "Development and Industrialization of Ultra-miniature Micro LED Projection Optical Engine for Wearable Augmented Reality Display" project led by Fujian Fuguang Co., Ltd.

The official website introduction information shows that Fuguang Co., Ltd. was founded in 1958 and was formerly a factory run by Fujian Normal University. It is one of the earliest optical companies in China; the company focuses on the research and development, production, sales and service of optical products. In 2019, Fuguang Co., Ltd. was listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, becoming the first company in the country and the first company listed on the Science and Technology Innovation Board in Fujian Province.
