MAX6969 is a serial interface of the LED driver, can provide 16 open drain, constant current absorption, rated 5.5V LED driver output. MAX6969 uses 3V to 5.5V power supply. MAX6969 and LED power supply can be in any order. All constant current outputs are set with an external resistor, each up to 55mA. 25Mb, industrial standard 4 wire serial interface for MAX6969 control. MAX6969 uses the industry standard shift register latch in the form of serial interface. Data is shifted into the 16 bit shift register via the data input DIN and the clock input CLK. After 16 clock cycles, the input data appears on the output DOUT, which allows multiple MAX6969 cascades. The latch enable input LE puts the 16 bit data of the shift register into the output latch of the 16 bit to set the switching status of each LED. The output enable /OE controls all 16 outputs of the switching state, and its fast response characteristics are suitable for controlling the LED brightness of the PWM input. For applications that require LED failure detection, refer to MAX6984*, which can automatically detect open circuit LED. For security related applications requiring watchdog timer, please refer to MAX6979, the device's failure protection function in the serial interface to stop working more than 1s after the shutdown output. MAX6969 belongs to the "shift register + latch type LED driver series consists of 12 members. Including 8 ports and 16 ports of the two types, with 5.5V or 36V rated LED output, some models with LED open circuit detection and watchdog function. All models are from 3V to 5.5V power supply, can be in -40 C to +125 DEG C operating temperature range to ensure the performance.
