LG monitor developed 2.6 mm thick LED backlight LCD TV panel

LG Display (LG), a maker of liquid crystal displays, said in December 21st that it had developed a liquid crystal display panel with a thickness of only 2.6 mm.

LG display company said in a statement, the company has so far the thinnest LCD TV panel also has a side mounted light-emitting diode backlight. The 42 inch panel weighs no more than 4 kg.

In May, the flat panel maker introduced a 42 inch and 47 inch LCD TV panel with a thickness of 5.9 mm.
