Panasonic released deep ultraviolet LED (UV-LED) module

Matsushita environmental solutions company developed the use of LED to produce 270nm wavelength region of the UV sterilization module deep ultraviolet LED (UV-LED) module, will start selling in June 16, 2014.

Deep ultraviolet radiation near 270nm has the ability to kill bacteria. But before the deep UV range of the main source of light is cold cathode tube and mercury lamp. Panasonic's new products to solve the problem of light source. The company significantly reduced the crystal defect density of the LED chip, the success of the output power of more than 10mW to produce a wavelength of about 270nm deep ultraviolet light. It is confirmed that 10 minutes of irradiation can reach more than 99.9% of the bactericidal effect.

Panasonic made use of this deep UV LED sterilization module products. This product with LED as light source, the thin (ie3.25mm thickness) and small (15mm * 25MM) design, but also has waterproof performance (IPX4), so can life water device of small household electrical appliances and embedded residential equipment. And the product does not contain mercury, does not produce ozone, the use of environmentally friendly design.

The product is equipped with UV-LED chip developed by the Japan Institute of physical and chemical research, light source life of more than 10 thousand hours.
