December 7, 2007, OSRAM (OSRAM) and the German Fraunhofer Institute of Applied Optics Research and Precision Engineering Institute (IAOPE) team (including Illek, Stefan film technology pioneer representative Ossi Ron Ce is Dr. Andreas Br by uer Klaus and team spokesman Dr. StreubEL IAOPE Research Institute) for outstanding research achievements in novel lighting technology. The future won the award of the eleventh Germany Presidential Award (German Future Prize), the award is awarded to the specific film chip technology and the use of the technology of Ostar LED family.
Thin film technology is the key technology of the production of ultra bright LED chip, and can make the chip tightly packed together to create a large area of lighting surface. OSRAM based on the technology of high efficiency LED has a broad application space, including mini projector, rear projection TV, car night vision devices and general lighting, etc.. LED can also be used for car headlights and taillights lighting, providing superior visibility, provides a great freedom of design for car manufacturers. Team spokesman Klaus Streubel says it is proud of the fact that its creativity and determination will speed up the victory of LED lighting.
Note: once a year the German future prize awards for those who get outstanding technology, engineering and scientific achievements (these achievements have practical application value, can be listed, creative products) German high-tech companies, issued by the federal president Horst K hler in December 6th this year.
