Linear 48V buck mode DC/DC converter LT3590

Ling Li (Linear Technology Corporation) launched 48V, DC/DC step-down converter LT3590, the device is used as a constant current LED driver. The internal 55V, 80mA switch and Schottky diode enable the LT3590 to drive up to 10 50mA in series with a 48V input into a series of LED. Very suitable for industrial and LED logo applications. The LED series connection achieves the same and up to 50mA LED current, resulting in uniform brightness and eliminates the need for ballast resistors. Dimming through the CTRL pin adjustment, can achieve up to 200:1 dimming ratio. The 850kHz switching frequency allows the use of tiny inductors and ceramic capacitors, while achieving high efficiency up to 91%. LT3590 features: 2mm x 2mm DFN or SC-70 package, which is a very compact solution for driving high current LED.

The LT3590 uses a fixed frequency current mode architecture for stable operation over a wide range of input and output voltages. The 200mV feedback voltage has an accuracy of + 5% to ensure a consistent LED brightness.

LT3590 uses 2mm x 2mm DFN-6 or 8 lead SC-70 package, available in stock. To buy 1000 units in bulk, the price of the two versions are $1.40.
