LED replace the road is still far from the need for careful development of enterprises

In July this year, the Ministry of science and Technology issued the "semiconductor lighting technology development" 12th Five-Year "special plan", also proposed to "12th Five-Year" at the end of the light emitting diode (LED) in the general lighting market share reached 30%, 500 billion yuan industrial scale target.

According to the national development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce and other departments jointly issued the China phasing out incandescent roadmap, from October 1st this year, China has begun to phase out incandescent.

On the one hand is the policy to encourage, on the other hand is to eliminate backward products, clear obstacles, LED lighting is ushering in the development of a good time.

However, the reporter recently visited the industry experts learned that the current popularity of LED lighting is still facing technology, price and other issues, in order to replace the current lighting products, still need a period of time.

Significant advantage

Since the successful invention of the incandescent lamp with practical value in 1879, Edison has stepped into the era of electrification. In the following 100 years, incandescent technology continues to progress, at the same time, was also born by the use of other technical means, such as the use of gas discharge technology fluorescent lamp, as well as the use of semiconductor technology LED lamp.

So, why LED lamp so popular?

General Electric (GE) lighting technology team Chinese R & D Center for Gao told reporters, the light effect of traditional incandescent lamp only 10 LM / W, and LED lamp can reach 70~80 LM / W, so the LED lamp has incandescent light efficiency is higher, more energy saving. However, the energy saving lamp contains mercury and other harmful elements, but it will cause serious pollution to the environment. It is understood that every 1 mg of mercury, you can pollute the water of 360 tons. At present, each energy-saving lamps containing mercury in 3~5 mg or so, and as of 2011, China's cumulative energy savings through the promotion of fiscal subsidies in the number of more than 500 million. According to Tang Aijun, Deputy Secretary General of China Association of renewable resources recycling, energy-saving lamps can only reduce the mercury content, completely put an end to mercury is impossible.

Gao also told reporters that in the past few decades, the lighting industry through a large amount of research, found that the luminescent mercury atom is very efficient, so far, have not seen in the gas discharge lamp can completely replace the mercury atoms of elements.

In contrast, LED lights are more advantages in terms of environmental protection. Gao told reporters, LED lamp does not contain mercury, the recycling of its circuit board is also more efficient than energy-saving lamps, so the environmental pollution is much smaller than the energy-saving lamps.

Tang Aijun also said that because the LED lamp does not contain mercury, and in terms of service life and energy saving can achieve very good results, so more optimistic about the development of LED lights.

Replacement remains difficult

Although there are many advantages in terms of energy saving and environmental protection, but it is not easy to replace other lighting products LED lamp.

Chinese Lighting Association vice chairman Liu Shiping told reporters that the LED lamp is a new light source is promising, is currently in a period of rapid development, but the technology is not perfect, such as the efficiency of light, heat, driving and other aspects of the problem. Luminous angle is generally only 180 degrees, compared with the traditional incandescent lamp and energy-saving lamps have a lack of 360 degrees.

These imperfections also restrict the application of LED lamps. For example, some cities in the promotion of LED street when questioned. Experts pointed out that the state of city road lighting design standard of illumination, uniformity, glare value has strict rules, but the promotion in the public lighting field of LED products do not meet these criteria. In addition, LED lamp is high, pure white, poor penetration, especially in rainy weather, is not conducive to road safety.
