Japan developed a superconducting light-emitting diode luminous intensity is 20 times the existing LED

Professor Maizong Kio, Hokkaido University, Japan led the research team successfully developed to achieve quantum communication essential superconducting light-emitting diode.

The research team added superconducting electrodes in 1.6 micron wavelength optical fiber communication with the LED, will be up with superconducting and optical communication technology comparison, the luminescence intensity of new superconducting technology of LED is 20 times the most bright LED.

Superconductivity and optical communication is the basic technology of quantum information communication. The development of the new LED is the first combination of these two technologies.

The results of this study are commissioned by the Japan Science and technology agency. The research was published in the online edition of the International Journal of Science (APeX), which began this year by the Japan Society of applied physics.
