Infineon Technologies (Infineon) introduced a new low cost linear LED driver series, for energy-saving lighting IC products add new force. New BCR320 and BCR420 series products to meet market demand for energy saving and environmental protection LED lighting Eucalyptus growing demand.
The LED driver for 150mA to 200mA under the general current drive 0.5 watt LED design, the negative temperature coefficient can make the longer service life of LED, also provides the pulse width modulation (PWM) digital interface signal suitable for use, dim the lights.
The new BCR320 and BCR420 LED driver in order to solve the shortcomings of the 0.5 watt LED applications tailored, not only compact, but also very low cost and simple program. With these two devices, you can save the use of inductors, capacitors and continuous current diode (free-wheELing diode), not only to save costs, but also help to reduce the space requirements of PCB. The use of electrolytic capacitors is also helpful to prolong the service life of LED system.
LED driver series BCR320 products are designed for peak output current up to 300mA. The maximum rated current is 250mA. Although the internal breakdown voltage of the device is generally 20V, it can be operated at 24V or higher supply voltage due to the series operation of the driver and LED.
BCR320 is designed for general lighting, building and lighting applications. BCR320 device has a negative temperature coefficient, once the temperature increases, the current will be reduced by the slope of 0.2%/K. BCR320U and BCR321U uses a very sophisticated version of the SC-74 package (2.9mm x 2.5mm 1.1mm x), its power consumption is 1W. BCR320P and BCR321P type is 2W high power consumption and SOT-223 packaging (6.5mm x 7.0mm x) listed. Both the BCR321U and BCR321P versions are able to dim the lights at the logical level.
Compared with the BCR320 device, the internal breakdown voltage of the BCR420 product is higher, and the output current is low. The internal breakdown voltage is generally 50V, while the rated output current is 150mA. BCR420 LED maximum drive current of 150mA, the same for the above application and design, is currently applying for AECQ 101 standard automotive application qualification. BCR420 and BCR421 products currently available in SC-74 packages. BCR421 adjustable dark version driver with micro controller interface.
BCR320U and BCR420U LED drives are already in mass production; BCR320P and BCR321P are expected to enter mass production in the first quarter of 2010.
