With the combination of RFID energy harvesting technology and organic electronic components, a group of German company to start the wireless printing type electroluminescent (ELectroluminescence) device; this technique is also suitable for the payment card security applications etc..
The prototype of the above technique is a collection of organic (printed) components and conventional silicon-based circuits. The printing assembly comprises an electroluminescent display, a RFID antenna, an induction circuit, etc. the power control circuit comprises a traditional silicon based rectifier and a DC/DC converter. In addition, there is a prototype of the micro battery, can be removed after the field (RF) to maintain the electroluminescent lighting.
This prototype is a cooperative effort of several German companies, including the provision of light emitting parts Schreiner Variolight, printed electronics and RFID technology supplier PolyIC, material manufacturers H.C. Starck and Varta Microbattery battery suppliers. Potential applications include security and payment solutions.
