Douala public lighting will be replaced by LED energy-saving lamps

Reporter recently learned from the Douala municipal government of Cameroon, in order to reduce electricity consumption, Douala existing public lighting lamps will be replaced by energy-saving lamps.

A person in charge of the municipal government said that the current public lighting is mainly 250 Watt sodium lamp and mercury gas lamp, power consumption is large, the financial expenditure of up to 150 million per month, Lang. In order to save electricity, the city government will be in the rainy season after the end of these lamps will be replaced by 70 to 100 watts of LED energy-saving lamps. Compared with the original lamp, LED energy-saving lamp brightness is basically the same, and the use of energy-saving lamps, the city government can save nearly 100 million yuan monthly expenditure.

It is reported that the Douala municipal government also plans to install 200 solar street lamps, project bidding will begin recently.
