Avago launches a new series of ultra low cost optical coupler products

Avago Technologies announced the development of a new series of ultra low optical coupler products, low-power 10MBd digital optical coupler integrated high efficiency LED and high gain photodetector, allowing the design engineer will bring light input and output coupler microcontroller connected 1.6mA low forward driving current directly, save the use of buffer to promote LED demand.

It is understood, ACPL-M61L/061L/064L/W61L/K64L optical coupler Avago innovation adopts the unique integrated circuit design and the thickness of insulation materials, can not affect the insulation efficiency under the condition of isolation and power save (power of 90%). These digital couplers can also provide good high voltage performance during the service life of the product and meet the safety requirements of the enhanced insulation applications. In addition, input a Faraday shield light detector circuit can bring the best products in the LED, the typical value is the application level 35kV/ s common mode noise resistance, the optical coupler can support 3.3V and 5V power, and in the -40 to +105oC temperature range of industrial system to provide reliable performance. The integration of this series has a similar low voltage lockout (UVLO, Under Voltage Lock-Out) function, which can avoid problems in the process of power failure or system response. In addition, the output of these optocouplers can be controlled by the voltage change rate, which can control the rise and fall time of the voltage through a wide range of load capacitor values.

Avago Kong coupler series target market consists of RS485, CANBus and I2C communication interface, a microprocessor system interface, and A/D and D/A digital analog digital conversion application isolation. Single channel ACPL-M61L optical coupler with SO-5 package has been officially delivery, respectively SO-8 ACPL-061L/064L, SO-6 extended type packaging packaging ACPL-W61L and extended SO-8 package ACPL-K64L is expected to launch at the end of March 2010.
