Allegro launches LED driver for display applications IC

Sanken electric company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the United States announced the launch of two new LED drive IC A6282 and A6285, suitable for display panels, signs and billboards and control panel Allegro.

A6282 and A6285 have 16 constant current output channel, also can be connected in series sequence data input and output, to provide a large screen, the megapixel level text or video display. These two products are also suitable for equipment or control panel to provide LCD backlighting or LED control and other small applications.

A6282 and A6285 perform a LED supply voltage up to 12V, allowing three or more LED per channel stack. Logic circuit power supply voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, the power supply to the LED is usually allowed to use the same power supply to the device. The user can adjust the output of the pulse width modulation (PWM) input, adjust the two components of the LED brightness control. Two components are under voltage lockout (UVLO) and thermal shutdown protection functions. Components can be selected using surface mount package.

A6282 is an entry-level 16 channel driver. Each output current up to 50mA. The output current matching rate between channels is very high, reaching + 3%, ensuring the high quality display, and the matching rate of other standby power supply is also improved.

A6285 has other additional features that can be applied to video applications. Through the highlight correction function, the user can adjust the output current of each channel to prevent the initial device mismatch and LED aging. Internal pull up to quickly close, remove the ghosting image and improve the quality of the image in the mobile image. The A6285 output is interleaved to initiate, significantly reducing EMI radiation and power line noise. A6285 has an open circuit LED detection feature that allows remote diagnosis of faulty LED.

A6282 uses QFN, SOIC and TSSOP 24 pin surface mount package. A6285 uses 32 pin QFN package. These packages are available for all two components.
