China LED Reuters] 2/3 of the American people have to buy home LED lighting products, compared with two years ago, the number almost doubled.
It is clear that the adoption rate of LED is rising, not only because of the decline in prices, but also because of the shift in consumer attitudes. More and more people are beginning to know the term "LED," according to the seventh annual survey by OSRAM North america.
Consumers buy solid state lighting (SSL) products are mainly for home lighting. Their choice of lighting from incandescent and compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) into LED lamps, mainly by color diversity, low energy consumption and Energy Star certification attract.
People's recognition of the advantages of LED lamps
The survey shows that LED replacement tide is fast, but can not be ignored is that, CFL still occupy most of the market share in the past 12 months, the largest amount of people still buy CFL. By next year, however, this may change.
More than half of the respondents said they bought CFL in the past year, but only 41% of people buy LED lights. The survey was conducted in February, when the major brands have not yet launched a lower price than CFL LED bulbs.
But the price is not the most concerned factor. Most consumers are more concerned about brightness and longevity, and in these areas, LED light is far better than CFL. Those who have not yet purchased the LED lights seem to have a misunderstanding of the quality and characteristics of LED technology.
When choosing lamps, people attach importance to each attribute
The survey shows that the store's products and its display is the most important source of information consumers learn. This means that buyers will not only need to be packaged with product information, but also need attractive price information, such as instant utility discount or daily specials. Only 18% of respondents said they would go to the electricity sector to understand the purchase of light bulbs.
Survey data show that consumers who have purchased LED lamps are likely to choose the next LED products, and those who want to build smart home consumers are more inclined to buy LED, rather than CFL.
In addition, in the field of intelligent lighting, consumers are most concerned about the price. About 2/3 of consumers said that the price is the most important factor in determining whether to buy smart bulbs. With the price of smart bulbs has also begun to decline, functional and lighting performance may soon become a more important driving force to buy. (Chinese LED net Flora)
