Taiwanese LED manufacturer Hongqi obtains patent authorization from Toyota Gosei

There is good news about LED packaging giant Hongqi's patent breakthrough. Hongqi and Japan's Toyota Gosei Co., Ltd. will simultaneously announce the signing of a patent licensing contract today (15th). This will be of great help to Hongqi's entry into the Japanese, European and American backlight markets in the second half of the year, and there is a chance to receive OEM orders from major international manufacturers.

Hongqi’s revenue in the second quarter reached NT$1.75 billion (approximately RMB 362 million), a record high in a single quarter, with a quarterly increase of 47%. Single-quarter profit growth was even greater. With the increase in gross profit margin, the legal person estimates that Hongqi’s pre-tax profit in the second quarter will be approximately 111 million yuan (approximately RMB 22.96 million), more than double the 53 million yuan (10.9633 million yuan) in the first quarter.

Hongqi is another Taiwanese LED packaging factory that has obtained a patent licensing contract from Toyoda Gosei, following Everlight, Lite-On, and Tobei. Wang Binglong, chairman of Hongqi, said that Hongqi is expected to open up a larger market and focus on operations in the second half of the year.

Wang Binglong said that some orders have already been won, and they are waiting for a patent breakthrough. The patent authorization with Toyoda Gosei can make up for the lack of cross-licensing with Osram. In the future, they will cooperate with Toyoda Gosei in other places.

In response to customer needs, Hongqi actively strives for and obtains Toyota Synthetic Silicate Phosphor White LED patent authorization.

Toyoda Gosei, together with Tridonic Jennersdorf GmbH (Austria), Leuchtstoffwerk Breitungen GmbH (Germany) and Litec GbR (Germany), holds the basic patent for white LED using blue LED and yellow silicate phosphor. The combination of silicate phosphor and blue LED makes white LED products, which have the characteristics of high precision and high luminosity.
