Semiconductor Photonics Research Center of Xiamen University

On 4 2006 5, Xiamen University semiconductor Photonics Research Center was formally established in Xuan Pavilion also inaugurated. Vice president of Sun Shigang of Xiamen University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Wang Qiming, inaugurated the semiconductor photonics research center. Semiconductor Photonics Research Center currently has invested nearly 30 million yuan of funds, the purchase of the metal organic chemical vapor deposition system, ultra high vacuum chemical vapor deposition, molecular beam epitaxy materials such as growth system, the formation of open type development platform from semiconductor optoelectronic materials to complete device. The center will study the blue and green laser, 3G wireless communication microwave source, low nano structure materials, photonic crystals and photonic chips and other sophisticated projects. Research Center official said, the establishment of semiconductor Photonics Research Center, will provide strong technical support for the construction of Xiamen national semiconductor lighting base.
