OSRAM and Nanoco signed a development agreement to enhance the performance of LED lighting

According to foreign media reports, recently, OSRAM (OSRAM) has signed a cooperation agreement with the Nanoco Technology on the application of Nanoco quantum dots in general lighting subsequent cooperation.

It is understood that, Nanoco is an alternative investment market in London (AIM) listed, from the University of Manchester, the United States and the spin off venture enterprises, the main production of cadmium free quantum dots and other nano materials. Back in August 2011, Nanoco has reached a partnership with OSRAM to improve the performance of LED lighting as the goal.

Nanoco said that the current market is mainly generated from the blue LED white light, but the light generated by this method in the red wavelength is weak, resulting in a lack of warm light, color display is not true. This limitation limits the widespread adoption of LED in some general lighting applications, and Nanoco quantum dots have the potential to overcome these problems.

Nanoco said that there has been considerable improvement in the optimization of the combination of cadmium free quantum dots and blue LED has effectively improved the color of the LED performance.
