The United States information provider Thomson Reuters (Thomson Reuters Corp.), recently released the 2014 Nobel prize winner (Nobel Prize) forecast list "Thomson Reuters citation Classic Award" (Thomson Reuters Citation Laureates), a total of 27 experts from different academic and research institutions on the list. The invention of organic light emitting diodes (Organic Light-Emitting Diode, OLED) Chinese American scientist Deng Qingyun (Ching W. Tang) also ranked.
Thomson Reuters intellectual property and science group (The Intellectual Property & Science Business) since 2002, according to the annual data Citation Database "Web of ScienceTM", cited analysis of research papers, the most influential researchers in statistical physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, economics, to do for the annual forecast list. As of 2013, Thomson Reuters has successfully predicted 35 Nobel prize winners.
Thomson Reuters believes that the number of scientific papers cited, to some extent, reflect the importance of the study, as well as the contribution of its researchers. The higher the citation ratio, the more chance to win the Nobel prize committee.
It is particularly worth mentioning is the forecast list, known as the father of OLED, was born in Hongkong, the u.s.. He and the American chemist Steven Van Slyke invented the OLED, not only lay the foundation for modern organic optoelectronics, OLED technology is more widely used in intelligent mobile devices, high-definition television screen, on human life and science contribute significantly. Two people won a high voice, is expected to win the Nobel prize in chemistry, the results will be announced in October 8, 2014.
