Cree and SemiLEDs agreement on LED patent litigation

LED lighting Cree, said the United States, and SemiLEDs agreed to end the patent infringement litigation. As part of the settlement, SemiLEDs agreed to an effective ban on October 2012, to stop importing and selling the defendant's products to the United States, and to pay a fee of Cree to compensate for the loss.

The remaining terms of negotiation between the parties have been removed and the other terms of the agreement are confidential.

Julio Garceran, a Cree intellectual property legal adviser, said the terms of the agreement highlight the broad and important nature of Cree's patented products and the determination of Cree to ensure that its intellectual property rights are respected.
