Cooperation between Guangdong and British universities "catalyst" co innovation LED Technology

University of Lancaster and the Guangdong Provincial Department of science and technology 18, 2009 in Guangzhou signed a memorandum of understanding for a period of 5 years. The two sides work together to develop and commercialize new products and services for the global market through collaborative research projects in order to strengthen the cooperation between Chinese and British scientific and technological enterprises.

University of Lancaster and Guangdong provincial science and technology department are working together to two specific cooperative research project: International Center for environmental research and innovation (IRICE) and Lancaster Chinese "catalyst" project.

In order to further develop and China cooperation, University of Lancaster recently obtained by competition from multiple sources of funds including the British government "catalyst" funds, funding, and a Chinese carried out for a period of 5 years of international innovation project. The overall goal of the project is to improve the level of international cooperation between UK and Chinese companies through collaborative research, development and commercialization.

The project will be through the following aspects to promote the Sino British economic growth and generate substantial training output: 400 British small and medium enterprises to carry out business for the Guangdong market Chinese; construction of 80 to 100 feet of medium - small and medium sized enterprises partners; in the information and communication technology, the semi conducting Ti Zhaoming (LED), new energy vehicles, bio technology, high-end equipment manufacturing, energy saving and environmental protection, new energy, new materials and other aspects of cooperation in research and technology innovation; promote the Sino British economic growth of related industries; training for hundreds of work between Guangdong and England in the innovative young talents; to attract domestic and international innovation elite work in Guangdong.

British Consul General in Guangzhou Morgan said at the meeting, China and the UK have long maintained a healthy and dynamic innovation and cooperation. The latest data show that the United Kingdom has surpassed Japan to become China's second largest scientific and Technological Paper partner, second only to the United states". He introduced the British Prime Minister Cameron announced in December last year, China announced that it would invest two hundred million pounds to strengthen cooperation with China's scientific and technological innovation.
