According to Taiwan's Digitimes reported that from 2010 to 2015, the global lighting market annual growth rate will be 7%-9% growth, and has reached 80 billion euros (about $109 billion 630 million), the Asian emerging markets and LED lighting as the main driving force. PHILPS lighting regional business director Nigel D 'Mr. Acre said that in 2015, LED light source market (including bulbs and lights) will reach 12 billion euros, LED lighting market will reach $30 billion.
According to PHILPS's forecast, in 2015, LED lighting market will account for about half of the global lighting market, by 2020, will be as high as 75%.
In 2015, PHILPS's goal is to maintain its global leader in lighting. PHILPS believes that the key is committed to the company's LED light source solutions and traditional lighting sales network management. PHILPS lighting's operating objective is to pre tax profit, interest and amortization reached 12-14%. The company will invest 5% of annual revenue as research and development funding, LED digital will account for about 75% of the total. In 2010 and in the year, the investment was $65% and $57% respectively.
