The traditional electric light source is not suitable to be used in agriculture. The application of LED in modern plant production has incomparable advantages and applicability. It has the characteristics of high efficiency, energy saving and long life. Compared with the fluorescent lamp, LED lamp can be used for tissue culture, regulated by LED can regulate the flowering and subsequent growth, and can enhance the seedling quality, improve the quality of seedling rate and shorten the breeding cycle and reduce energy costs. At the same time, the specific wavelength of LED can affect the flowering time, quality and duration of flowering. Some wavelengths of LED can increase the number of flower buds and the number of flowering plants, some of the wavelength of LED can reduce flower response, regulate the length of the pedicel and flowering, is conducive to the production and marketing of cut flowers.

At present, China's greenhouse horticulture area has reached 337 Hm2, which accounted for about 25% of the greenhouse, the most important benefit of the growing industry. In the southeast coastal areas, the solar energy received by the ground decreased than the national overall downward trend is more severe, the LED light is to solve production facilities by way of weak light control. Therefore, the research and application of LED light source and its intelligent light control technology based on the reasonable demand of plant growth and development is the core content of the future research and development. In addition, research content and the greenhouse different plants and different growth stages of LED light demand research, and based on different targets (yield, quality, fresh fruit, stem and leaf) optimization and a series of LED light source.
