US scientists have developed a miniature LED that can be used to treat neurological diseases

University of Illinois (the University of Illinois) scientists have invented a micro LED, the small degree can easily through the small needle.

It has been proved by the experiment that the micro LED can effectively stimulate the deep brain by the wireless operation, and has certain curative effect on the nervous system diseases, such as movement disorders.

In the experiment, the researchers placed a LED probe into the mouse brain and then stimulated the neurons in a part of the brain's reward pathway by using light pulses. After receiving the LED pulse, the rats spent more time in the Y maze, as if they knew how to get food rewards in the maze.

The leader of John Rogers said that this new micro LED will be able to effectively improve the nerve disease treatment ability, to help doctors accurately embedded LED light source, sensor and other components into the brain in patients with medical treatment. If the study is fully successful and popular, the miniature LED device will be able to cure a range of neurological disorders, including motor disorders.
