Americas LED light source market share in 2013-2014
According to IHS estimates, in 2014 the U.S. LED lighting market more than 1 billion 900 million U.S. dollars, while the light source market will be more than $4 billion. Market leader PHILPS managed to increase its LED lighting market share, from 14% in 2013 to 17% in 2014, followed by OSRAM, Matsushita and Toshiba, the market share of approximately 8%, and 6% respectively hold 6%; GE increased from 3% in 2013 to 6% in 2014, but these "athletes" losses in the traditional lighting market, which means that all of the top five lamp manufacturers overall market share has the loss.
Light source market is more fragmented than the lighting market, PHILPS as a global market leader, but also only 6% of the market, while the top manufacturers in the United States accounted for only about 10 of the market's total of 22%. Overall, the light market seems to be "brighter" than the lighting market, at least for the top players. The top five companies are: PHILPS, Acuity, Matsushita, Fort ord and Cooper, in 2014 hold their market share.
LED source of income share increased from 21% in 2013 to 23% in 2014, and this proportion is expected to reach 53% in 2022, the big winner is PHILPS, the LED lighting market share increased from 4% in 2014 to 10% in 2013, the Acuity brand in the United States market, see the share rose from 4% in 2013 to the same period last year 6%. Acuity brand holds 19% of the overall LED light source market in the Americas (from 2013 to 16%). PHILPS is more concentrated in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) market, accounting for 12%; as well as the Asia Pacific region (APAC) market of 10%.
How light source manufacturers will adapt to the market remains to be seen, however, very focused on the light source market seems to help ease this shift, at least for now.
