Taiwan Tainan research LED glass brick shop signs energy-saving new choice

Southern Taiwan University Teachers and students development combines solar cell and marquee LED glass brick wall, the day storage power required for night, hope to become a new choice for businesses such signs.

Lai Zhiwen said, "the research works of reference ITRI solar power window, polymer diffusion plate, solar cell and LED lamp, designed the glass brick LED generation. During the day to receive sunlight for about 8 hours, the evening can provide about 3, 4 hours of electricity needed to shine.

He said that an area of 10 square centimeters of solar LED glass brick, production costs about NT $250, compared with the general market of the same area of about 80 yuan of glass bricks, but multiple functions, it should be very commercial potential. This is the first time LED solar glass competition, the future will continue to improve, and ready to apply for a patent.
