South Korea to promote the development of LED industry integration technology $270 million to develop the cause of LED

The South Korean government announced before 2015, will invest 300 billion won (about $279 million) to support the light emitting diode (LED) research and development work. South Korean Ministry of knowledge economy said in a meeting on economic policy adjustment, in order to promote the technology development and the integration of the LED industry, in the next 5 years will arrange a total amount of 300 billion won budget support, and promote the preparatory support strategy of LED industry leap again.

Early in 2009 the Ministry focused investment to promote the core original technology development and the popularity of LED lighting to public institutions, the new policy is focused on how to apply LED technology creatively and existing industries such as lighting, medical and other integration, create more high value-added technology.

The South Korean government to ensure the market competitiveness, and ensure the leading market to create consumer confidence, a virtuous cycle of ecological industry 3 major policy task plan before 2015 will be LED lighting business to the global advanced position fusion.

South Korean government 5 years to invest 300 billion won out from the original blue LED, diversified special wavelength or full color product technology, preparation could activate LED plant factory, intelligent automobile headlamp and creative industry based LED fusion.

The South Korean government also plans to 2011 in the implementation of the lighting function marking system and post evaluation result management system, convenient for consumers to identify products. Another plan for Sejong, building 70% by LED lighting, will make LED Sejong City, and will invest 10 billion won in 2011 ($9 million 290 thousand), the 4 rivers, 60% landscape lighting 16 reservoirs to replace LED lighting.
