Samsung will stop making plasma TVs from November

According to the BBC, Samsung will stop producing plasma TVs on November 30 due to falling demand. And the focus will shift to curved TVs and ultra-high definition TVs. Samsung promises that they will still provide customers with products that meet their needs.

In recent years, Panasonic, Hitachi, and Sony have withdrawn from the plasma TV field, and there is news that LG will follow suit.
Plasma TV screens use dotted plasma gas. It is popular because of its good brightness, high frame rate, and ability to display deep blacks. Considered suitable for watching movies and sports games. But they consume a lot of power and are very bulky compared to currently popular LED and LCD TVs.
Evan Kypreos, editor of TrustedReviews, said it was no surprise that Samsung stopped producing plasma TVs. The problem is that it's very tricky to build ultra-high-definition plasma TVs, which are the future of big TVs. Although plasma TVs have clearer images and higher contrast than LED and LCD TVs, they also have some shortcomings. For example, it cannot be made very thin, and people like thin ones.

Kypreos stated that LED TVs have a wider color gamut, better brightness and black surface levels than plasma TVs. As this proven information is increasingly publicized to people. There is no longer any reason to support the continued production of plasma TV screens.
