OSRAM sued LG Electronics LED patent battle LG first round defeat

SIEMENS (Siemens), OSRAM (Osram) business accused of lighting technology patent infringement of LG Electronics to replace the incandescent lamp, LG Electronics lost in the first round of trade disputes.

The United States International Trade Commission (U.S. International TradeCommission) judge Xiao Ao (David Shaw) said yesterday posted on the official website of the announcement, LG Electronics (LG ELectronics Inc.) and LG Innotek Co. 1 OSRAM infringement of organic light emitting diode (LED) patent, but did not infringe second patents. After the two sides modify the confidential information, the judge will be open to the public.

If the committee accepts the judge's decision, some of the lighting products manufactured by the LG Innotek will face a ban on imports. LG Electronics Holding LG Innotek part LG Innotek is responsible for equity, and supply LED to LG electronics.

This is only for share of global patent battle one. LG also has the International Trade Commission proposed to stop OSRAM products market in the United States outside the lawsuit.

LED is a kind of semiconductor, can replace incandescent lamp, fluorescent lamp and high pressure sodium lamp, in the automobile, electronic products, utilities and residential lighting equipment set off a wave of reform.

After the Royal PHILPS Electronics (Royal Philips) of the world's second largest manufacturer of lighting products - OSRAM, LG is trying to prevent the use of LED TV, computer screen and light to enter the American market. OSRAM's invention covers the manufacture of white LED method, while the white LED is more widely used than the traditional red, blue or green LED.
