Recently by the BMBF (German Federal Ministry of education and Research) to provide support, by Cynora GmbH, NovaLED AG and the University of Regensburg (Regensburg University) cooperation project cyCESH has been officially launched, the new printed OLED functional materials, the project aims to develop suitable for lighting applications. This project for a period of 3 years, a total of $6 million 100 thousand in funding to support. The main goal is to develop a new type of soluble materials for low-cost OLED manufacturing as well as the manufacture of highly efficient OLED. According to the project participants, the new printable material will be used to make OLED through a simpler, less costly printing process. But for the traditional OLED, the current is still mainly through the production process of high vacuum technology.
Each participant will focus on the appropriate value chain. University of Regensburg professor Hartmut Yersin led the team will be responsible for material development. Cynora GmbH will focus on the following materials synthesis, optimization process and technology development. Novaled will be responsible for the application of water-based process and doped transport layers; the company has nearly 500 OLED related technology, structure and material of the patent, and also authorized sales for conducting large-scale OLED production enhancement technology and organic materials. According to reports, Professor Yersin and his team have been in the physical characterization and development of new light emitter materials carefully studied for more than thirty years; the last fifteen years, the research team has focused on the characteristics of OLED and its applications.
The general manager of Cynora GmbH Thomas, Dr. Baumann said, through close collaboration with Professor Yersin Novaled, team can be expert experience, a comprehensive and specific professional knowledge together and applied to OLED development process. "Our alliance will work together to develop the overall goal of mass OLED materials and production methods. "
