According to foreign media reports, the price of LED declined gradually, more and more consumers in Philippines from the traditional compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) to LED, so PHILPS lighting has also ushered in a sales peak of LED on the market in Philippines.
PHILPS's survey shows that turning to LED can help reduce energy consumption by 85% of home lighting. This means that each household 1000 pesos (Peso) of electricity charges in about $200 pesos from lighting. If replaced with LED, 200 pesos lighting costs can be reduced to 30 pesos.
PHILPS Philippines District Marketing Manager Christine Villanueva said, "at present, people are gradually turning to LED, and more and more aware of the energy is really can help them". Villanueva said that PHILPS had previously estimated that by 2015 there will be about 45% of Philippines buyers tend to buy LED lights.
PHILPS found that some of the DIY stores in Philippines, LED lamps and energy-saving lamps sales share was 50%. Villanueva also pointed out that the lighting industry in 2010 hit a 13% share of LED.
