Japan ahead of incandescent bulb "retired" time to replace the LED lamp energy saving

In recent years, due to the obvious advantages of energy-saving LED bulbs, the Japanese market has gradually replaced the traditional incandescent bulbs. Due to the severe shortage of electricity supply in the summer of 2012, the government had to ban the production and sale of incandescent bulbs.

Japan's environment minister Hosono Nhoshi, economy minister Eno Yukio yesterday (12) issued a joint statement said, in response to the summer power shortage situation, the electrical contractor must immediately stop production and sales of incandescent bulbs, to promote LED lighting.

In 2008, the Japanese government issued under the provisions of requirements for incandescent bulbs must withdraw from the market before 2012. However, due to the supply of electricity this summer, or will be 15% of the gap, the Japanese government decided to advance the incandescent bulb "retirement" time.

According to the Japan Institute of energy economics, LED bulbs consume 1/5 of incandescent bulbs, while life expectancy is nearly 10 times that of incandescent bulbs. According to the data in the past 10 years, the sales of incandescent bulbs fell by 75%, while the LED bulb rose by more than 1200%. Incandescent bulbs have gradually withdraw from the stage of history.

Environment minister Hosono said that this summer, a large gap in the power, hoping to take this opportunity to let incandescent bulbs from the market disappear.
