According to the Wall Street journal recently reported that the Ministry of power of India has developed a new plan to solve the country's energy crisis, namely the replacement of LED bulbs LED.
The government announced that the government of India has proposed to replace incandescent and fluorescent lamps in all its offices in the capital LED.
According to the India government estimates, LED lighting can save about 347 thousand kilowatts of electricity (about 13% of the national generating capacity). World Bank statistics show that there are still about 300 million Indians living in an environment without electricity.
Goyal, Minister of state power Piyush, estimates that the national LED retrofit project will save $8 billion a year in electricity and power for 50 million people. Energy conservation is vital to countries that rely on fossil fuels, coal and natural gas to fulfill their international commitments to reduce carbon emissions.
In order to further promote the use of LED lighting, the government of India has launched a separate program, to 10 rupees ($0.16) price to sell LED lighting, only about half of the incandescent lamp and fluorescent lamp price, usually, LED lighting retail price of about 500 rupees. The project is responsible for the energy efficiency services, general manager of the joint venture company established by the Ministry of electric power Saurabh Kumar.
However, the government or the company did not subsidize the price of the very low LED bulbs. Instead, the goal is to lock the power company. India electric power company will sell at a loss to some customers, by encouraging customers to switch to LED and reduce the power consumption, and power companies sell at a loss power will decrease.
