European lighting industry to create a new alliance

Long-awaited ELC and CELMA combined to create the LightingEurope organization, the alliance is committed to on behalf of the European lighting industry interests, reform problems produced by LED. The two organizations of the European lighting industry, --ELC and CELMA will be merged in Brussels in December 5, 2012 to form a new organization, called LightingEurope.

The new agency prides itself on being the "voice of the European lighting industry", which will represent the lighting associations of many European countries and various types of European lighting companies. ELC is the European light bulb manufacturers association, CELMA is the European lighting association. In the future, LightingEurope will replace the two organizations.

Over the past few years, ELC and CELMA have been working closely to unify the position of the European lighting industry. In the previous two Light+Building exhibition, they held the LED legislation and market development association. They also participated in the European lighting technology strategy exhibition from 2010 to 2012. LightingEurope said, after the introduction of LED lighting, lighting technology and production methods have undergone unprecedented changes, LightingEurope will seize the opportunity to meet the challenge. "

While leading the future of Europe and the world, the organization is committed to becoming a platform for industry development and communication. The founding members of LightingEurope include 12 current ELC members of the 8, such as the familiar GE, Havells Sylvania, Osram, Philips and Toshiba, as well as Panasonic and Zumtobel. Many existing members of CELMA will also join LightingEurope.
