EU decided to replace incandescent lamp with LED lamp

According to the EU's decision to phase out incandescent light bulbs, the LED industry should make people aware of the problems of compact fluorescent lamps.

The European Union has decided to phase out traditional incandescent bulbs in an effort to improve energy efficiency. Over the next three years, old-fashioned incandescent bulbs will be phased out and banned from sale in europe.

Most incandescent lamps will be replaced with compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), which contain water vapor mercury. They can only process mercury in a recycling process. However, many communities do not have convenient recycling, these lighting fixtures will eventually become landfill. Mercury turns into methylmercury in the environment and accumulates in the food chain.

In addition to the problem of mercury, these compact fluorescent lamps can produce an unbalanced spectrum (red end is defective) and high frequency electromagnetic pulse. An electromagnetic pulse from a compact fluorescent lamp can be leaked back into the circuit (called "dirty electricity"), which can produce similar effects in other rooms and houses.

Exposure to light and / or pulse causes academic problems, reducing muscle, headache, insomnia, depression, skin cancer and other diseases, according to a peer-reviewed study.

Alan Schmukler, the EU's stakeholders, believes that the LED industry needs to take the initiative now, not just to develop and sell LED, but to make people aware of the problems of compact fluorescent lamps (V.).
