Dual virtual studios! Alto Electronics helps Hong Kong Baptist University build a top film and television teaching practice base

Recently, the dual virtual studios of Hong Kong Baptist University constructed by Alto Electronics were officially delivered. The studio integrates more than ten core subsystems such as XR virtual shooting, VP virtual production, motion capture, robotic arms, camera tracking, real-time rendering, and professional lighting. With the RM series as the main screen, it is currently a virtual production studio with leading system integration and technical configuration among Asian universities. It is another benchmark project created by Alto Electronics.

Dual-studio collaborative architecture,

One-click flexible switching of XR/VP modes

This project adopts a customized architecture of dual virtual studios: one is a VP studio dedicated to VP virtual production, and the other is an XR+VP composite studio that supports free switching between two virtual production modes and adapts to diversified teaching and creative needs.

Among them, VP professional studio adopts a multi-rendering machine collaboration solution, with RM1.5 series main screen, M3.7H series sky screen, supplemented by RM1.5C large-angle arc cabinet, which can achieve high-quality shooting effects under complex lens movements. Actors can shoot a variety of scenes such as urban street scenes, future spaces, and virtual natural environments without leaving the studio. Lens movement, LED images, and virtual scenes are synchronized in real time.

The XR/VP composite studio is equipped with Alto Electronics RM2.3 series main screen, IF2.6V4X professional floor tile screen, and is equipped with the Disguise professional control system. It supports the dual working modes of XR virtual and real fusion shooting and VP virtual production, and can meet diversified application scenarios such as real-time previews, virtual live broadcasts, and immersive film and television shooting in one stop.

Realizes virtual and real lighting linkage,

Provides one-stop delivery service

When the studio was delivered, Alto Electronics also provided supporting teaching and empowerment services. Through special technical training and practical creative workshops, teachers and students were guided to practice shooting and master the virtual production process. This one-stop delivery service model was highly recognized by the school, teachers and students.

It is worth mentioning that in this project, the Alto team also solved the technical problem of the Art-Net protocol virtual and real lighting linkage solution for the school - when the time, weather or light direction changes in the virtual scene, the on-site lighting can respond synchronously in real time, allowing the characters to truly integrate into the digital environment. This technology has also become an important symbol that distinguishes this project from other university studios.
