According to Reuters's news, the material production companies Cree may be interested in buying the whole German equipment manufacturers Aixtron MOCAD. But industry insiders on the rumors still puzzled, because such a deal seems a bit unreasonable: Cree production of silicon carbide materials, manufacturing power and RF devices, of course, the LED luminous tube and LED lighting equipment is Cree big business; while Axitron is mainly used for the production of LED chip manufacturing equipment MOCVD.
A while ago, a rumor that the application materials (AMAT) intends to acquire a MOCVD equipment manufacturer, is said to be about Veeco, because the application materials feel action in this market slightly slow a little (and are smaller competitors to grab the opportunities). So far, Aixtron and Veeco obviously is a leader in this market, and a veteran of the semiconductor equipment manufacturers, including the application of electronic materials, Tokyo (TEL) and Ulvac 1cae but not in the rapid rise of the market for the number of oil and water. Therefore, these rumors of the acquisition of Aixtron's semiconductor equipment maker Veeco, or kill sounds more reasonable.
At present, there is no relevant vendors come out of the rumor or confirm these rumors.
