- what are the difficulties encountered in the development?

Hibino:LumixxLine is not a lighting, but the display image display. Therefore, it is desirable to display images with high quality. Because the chain like LED display is arranged on the surface, and the image is displayed, the gap between the chains can be uneven. For example, sometimes is composed from the direction of hang down the way and display images, and sometimes distorted display display image chain cross each other. To this end, LumixxLine has been used in these cases can still ensure that the image distortion less image processing technology. Display color, RGB color are 12bit control. The control unit connected to the LumixxLine is equipped with a processor that is capable of processing the 4K2K image to control the display of the LED display.

- minimum pixel spacing of 35mm. Why choose 35mm interval?

Hibino: taking into account the relationship between flexibility and LED backplane, the minimum is only 35mm. The pixels mounted on the chain are integrated with the 5.5mm square surface mount LED and the LED drive IC printed backplane (Figure 3). Print base for 17mm square. The housing for receiving the printed bottom plate is arranged on a rubber covered cable. Considering the flexibility of the chain, the 35mm interval is the most appropriate. The interval is too small will reduce the flexibility, so that the difference between the product and flat type display becomes blurred.

However, it is possible to increase the resolution to 2 times. If the pixel chain is arranged in a brick wall, the pixel interval can be halved. The LED display using image processing software also takes into account the configuration.

- LED display power consumption?

Hibino:1 column LED monitor rated power consumption of 500W. This is the value of all the LED lights, the actual display of the image, the power consumption should be reduced by 30 ~ 40%.

Each pixel is designed to improve the heat dissipation of LED. Therefore, it is possible to build a LED display without using a special heat sink. Screen brightness, 35mm interval product is 2000cd/m2, 70mm interval product is 500cd/m2.

In addition, the power supply for each pixel is 5V, LED drive IC supply voltage from the 5V in the supply of LED.

Where did LED buy it?

Hibino: Nichia chemical industries. The plane type LED display of the company also used Nichia chemical manufacturing industry LED. LumixxLine's surface mount LED is generally a generic product, but the RGB's luminous color is configured for the company.

What about the price?

Hibino: the previously mentioned 35mm interval product consisting of a 20m2 screen size of the system is 33 million yen. 74mm interval with the composition of the 74m2 screen size of the system is 40 million yen. In addition to LumixxLine, the system includes 9 control units.
