Catalyst semiconductor market for large screen LED display 8 channel constant current LED driver

Catalyst semiconductor company to extend its application to the recently launched a large screen LED display device LED driver product line, the new CAT4008 is a 8 channel constant current source LED driver, designed for advertising, advertising, instrument or other large size LED display, indoor and outdoor design for general purpose. CAT4008 and Catalyst launched in 2007 16 channel CAT4016 together as Catalyst constant current LED driver product members.

CAT4008 LED channel can be in the output voltage as low as 0.4V (when the LED current is 2mA ~ 100mA) to keep the steady state, in the application design can achieve higher power efficiency. LED current can be set by external resistors. Speed up to 25MHz high-speed, four wire serial interface through the shift register and latch architecture to control each channel in the 8 channel LED. The serial data output pin allows multiple devices to be connected in series using the same serial interface. The CAT4008 also has an output shutdown pin that can be used to turn off all LED channels without having to rely on the serial port to send data. In addition, the CAT4008 also has a thermal protection function to close the LED output when the chip temperature exceeds the allowable limit.

CAT4008 uses 16 pin, 150mil SOIC package, can be used to replace Macroblock, Toshiba or other manufacturers of similar products.
