According to media news, May 11th, the European bank for reconstruction and development (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, EBRD) President Shack Labadie and Armenia finance minister Ha Chartres Liang signed the agreement, the European bank for reconstruction and development to erivan city to provide $4 million (about 24 million 807 thousand and 600 yuan) funds for the introduction of energy-saving technological transformation of Yerevan city road lighting system.

Yerevan city has a population of 1 million 100 thousand, accounting for about 1/3 of the country's population, but the road lighting network still consists of old, inefficient and polluting the environment mercury lamp. The project will be through the introduction of LED energy-saving lamps, the establishment of monitoring system and the replacement of lamp and power cable, to reduce the energy consumption, and maintenance cost minimization operation, improve safety and environmental standards and service quality of motor vehicles and pedestrians. Since 1992, the European bank for reconstruction and development has been in Armenia, finance, infrastructure, energy and other areas of the implementation of 135 projects with a total investment of more than 900 million euros.
