Recently, according to foreign media reports, Apple is steadily advancing its new layout in the field of wearable devices. Mark Gurman, a well-known technology reporter from Bloomberg, recently revealed that Apple plans to release an artificial intelligence glasses internally codenamed N50 between the end of 2026 and early 2027, and is expected to be fully launched on the market in 2027.
This product marks Apple’s official entry into the lightweight smart glasses segment, and is also a key part of its future artificial intelligence hardware ecosystem. Mark Gurman revealed that in terms of product design and form, the latest test prototype of the N50 smart glasses uses acetate material that is more high-end and durable than ordinary plastic, aiming to significantly improve the overall texture and wearing experience of the device.
Currently, the Apple design team is polishing at least four different frame shapes, covering large rectangles, more delicate slim rectangles, as well as oval and round frames of different sizes, supplemented by rich color schemes such as black, ocean blue and light brown.
The core highlight of the device's appearance is its imaging system, which adopts a unique vertically arranged oval lens design and is equipped with a working indicator light, aiming to create a highly recognizable Apple signature aesthetic.
In terms of functional positioning, this artificial intelligence glasses removes the micro-display and instead focuses on audio, visual capture and intelligent interaction. Users can use it to take daily photos and videos, answer calls, play music and receive system notifications, and it can be seamlessly synchronized with the mobile phone.
As an important part of Apple's artificial intelligence wearable device strategy, the glasses will work with a new generation of wireless headphones and a neck-mounted camera device. Through deep integration with iPhone and the soon-to-be-upgraded Siri, N50 will use advanced computer vision technology to analyze the environment around the user in real time, thereby greatly enhancing the perception capabilities of Apple's intelligent system and enabling cutting-edge experiences such as smarter visual reminders and map navigation.
