Foreign reports, the Taiwan Market Research Agency Strategies Unlimited issued a research report pointed out that in 2008 the global high brightness light-emitting diode (LED) package product sales annual growth rate is expected to increase 12%, 9.5% higher than in 2007 ($4 billion 600 million) in 2006, 6% in 2005.
The agency also pointed out that the mobile phone applications outside the product growth accelerated during 2008-2012 composite global high brightness LED sales growth rate (CAGR) will reach 20%, while sales in 2012 is expected to rise to $11 billion 400 million.
Strategies Unlimited is expected in 2012, LED's largest application market will be the indicator light and display panels (including LCD, LCD TV Bei Guangyuan), compared to 44%. 2007 LED main application market for mobile phones, the market share of 44%. In addition, in 2012, solid state lighting (Solid-State Illumination) global sales will rise from $320 million in 2007 to $1 billion 370 million.
