Recently, the Ministry of science and technology held in Beijing in 11th Five-Year, the National 863 program, semiconductor lighting project acceptance of major projects.

Through the implementation of the project, China has overcome a number of key industrial generic technology in LED epitaxial material, chip manufacturing, packaging, key raw materials and application integration, initially formed from the upstream chip R & D material preparation, midstream and downstream packaging device and integrated application of relatively complete industrial system, the white LED devices laboratory light efficiency more than 130lm/W, the industrialization of light efficiency more than 100lm/W, Si substrate LED light efficiency reached 90lm/W, chip localization rate reached 60%. Demonstration project of the 37 "ten city lights" pilot city implementation of more than 2000, more than 4 million 200 thousand of the application of LED lighting lamp, power saving more than 400 million degrees.

The implementation of the project led to the rapid development of China's semiconductor lighting industry. In 11th Five-Year, China's semiconductor lighting industry average annual growth rate of nearly 35%. In 2010, China's semiconductor lighting enterprises above the scale of more than 4000, the scale of the industry from 35 billion 600 million yuan in 2006, increased to 120 billion yuan, the formation of the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, the four semiconductor lighting industry in Bohai, Jiangxi and Fujian area gathering area.
