Zhejiang University team cooperates with Jiuzhou Group to promote perovskite quantum dot healthy lighting project

On July 18, at the 2025 China (Mianyang) Science and Technology City Science and Technology Innovation Conference, the team of Academician Ye Zhizhen of Zhejiang University reached a cooperation with Sichuan Jiuzhou Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd. Image source: Jiuzhou Group According to reports, the two parties will conduct research on improving the eye protection capabilities of LED semiconductor lighting technology, and are expected to launch the first healthy lighting product based on perovskite quantum dot technology in 2026. It is reported that in response to the technical bottleneck of the lack of cyan (470-485nm) and deep red (>680nm) bands in the traditional LED spectrum, Academician Ye Zhizhen’s team has innovatively applied perovskite luminescent quantum dot technology to improve the light source spectrum fitting degree from the existing 0.6-0.7 to 0.8-0.9, which is close to the quality of natural light. Laboratory verification has shown that this technology can effectively relieve visual fatigue symptoms in 82% of subjects. In addition, the team chose to implant quantum dot technology in the optical film link. This "embedded" process transformation solution will reduce R&D investment by about 35% while retaining the main structure of the existing LED production line. Jiuzhou Group stated that in the future, perovskite quantum dots have huge development potential in the field of health lighting, and the demand is expected to grow rapidly in medical, education, home, agriculture, industry and other scenarios.
