VITURE's third-generation flagship XR glasses Beast is officially released, starting at 3,999 yuan

On May 15, VITURE released its third-generation flagship XR glasses product, Beast, priced at 3,999 yuan by the National Bank, and priced at about 2,854 yuan after discounts from some channels. This product is positioned as a portable large-screen display device, mainly for audio-visual entertainment and light office scenarios.

In terms of display parameters, Beast uses the Birdbath optical solution and is equipped with a Sony 0.68-inch Micro OLED panel, with a single-eye resolution of 1200p and a field of view of 58 degrees. The official claim is that it can present a virtual screen equivalent to 174 inches at a distance of about 4 meters.

The peak brightness of the device is 1250 nits, the refresh rate is 120Hz, and the color standard ΔE is less than 2.0. Compared with VITURE's previous Luma series, Beast has improved brightness and viewing angle.

Beast is VITURE's first XR glasses with built-in 3DoF computing chip. It supports screen space anchoring function and provides three display modes: anchoring, smooth following and ultra-wide. Users can fix the virtual screen at a specific spatial position or make it move with the field of view.

In addition, the device is equipped with 9-stop electrochromic lenses, supports manual adjustment of lens transmittance, and is equipped with an audio system tuned by Harman Kardon. It is planned to support 3DoF spatial audio through firmware updates in the future.

The Beast body is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy frame, and the temples are made of PC and TPE composite materials, supporting three-level angle adjustment up and down. The whole machine weighs 88 grams and is equipped with magnetic ergonomic nose pads. Three sizes of nose pads are included in the package for replacement. The product provides two interpupillary distance specifications, the regular model is suitable for 64.0±6.0 mm interpupillary distance, and the large model is suitable for 68.0±6.0 mm interpupillary distance. At the same time, Beast supports users to configure their own prescription lenses.

In terms of device connection, Beast can be directly connected to PCs, smartphones, and handheld devices such as Steam Deck and ROG Ally through the USB-C interface, and can be connected to consoles such as Switch 2 with the help of supporting accessories. At the software level, it supports four platforms: Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS, and provides XR multi-screen mode and 2D to 3D real-time conversion functions. There is an RGB camera on the front of the frame, which can currently be used to take photos and videos. VITURE said that it will add 6DoF tracking and other functions through software updates in the future.

From the perspective of product strategy, Beast is not equipped with an independent computing unit or operating system, but is used as an external display device. This design makes its content ecology dependent on the user's existing mobile phone, computer and host platform, avoiding investment in the construction of native application ecology.
