Thunderbird MicroLED AR glasses are connected to JD smart body JoyGlance

According to news on April 1, JoyGlance, the shopping smart phone launched by JD.com, was officially launched on Thunderbird X3 Pro AR glasses. This is the first time in the industry that full-color screen display smart glasses have implemented a complete AR shopping process from product discovery to payment completion.

It is understood that by the end of 2025, JD Technology has reached a strategic cooperation with Thunderbird Innovation to carry out technology exploration based on JD’s large model JoyAI. This launch deeply integrates JoyGlance’s multi-modal intent recognition, visual search, and voiceprint payment capabilities, as well as Thunderbird’s technical advantages in optical display and system interaction.

It is reported that Thunderbird Innovation’s X3 Pro, released in May last year, is positioned as the flagship AR glasses of the year. In its display and optical solutions, it adopts the technical path of binocular full-color Micro LED combined with nano-photolithography optical waveguide. This product is equipped with a self-developed 0.36cc full-color X-cube Micro LED light engine and RayNeo optical waveguide solution, achieving a balance between volume control and display performance.

Among them, the light engine has built-in 6 customized RGB Micro LED micro-displays provided by JBD, which can support 16.77 million color full-color display, with an average brightness of 3500nits and a peak brightness of 6000nits. It still has good visibility in outdoor strong light environments. After superimposing the JBD ARTCs image quality engine, the brightness uniformity and color performance of the overall display are further optimized.

In the optical sector, RayNeo nanophotolithography optical waveguide was jointly developed by Thunderbird Innovation and Applied Materials. Compared with the traditional nanoimprinting process, this technology can achieve about 50% improvement in light efficiency, while effectively reducing the thickness and weight of the device, and suppressing the rainbow pattern phenomenon to a certain extent, thus improving the final eye quality.

At the ecological level, Thunderbird Innovation also cooperated with Amap in March this year to introduce local life services into the AR glasses system, which can display surrounding merchant information in real time based on the user's location, including ratings, customer unit prices and special tags, etc., expanding the application boundaries of AR glasses in consumer decision-making scenarios.
