Suzhou releases list of key projects in 2023, including projects from AUO, China Star and other companies

Recently, the Suzhou Development and Reform Commission released the "List of Key Projects in Suzhou in 2023". In 2023, Suzhou has arranged 468 key municipal projects, of which 418 are implemented projects with a total investment of 1.27 trillion yuan and an annual planned investment of 230.1 billion yuan; there are 50 reserve projects with a total investment of 173.2 billion yuan.

By project category, there are 141 strategic emerging industry projects in the list, involving electronic information, high-end equipment, new materials, new energy and other industries.

There are 33 projects in the electronic information industry category, including display product projects from manufacturers such as Display AUO and China Star Optoelectronics, as well as third-generation semiconductor projects from companies such as Innosec. The following is part of the list:

In terms of display projects, it is worth noting that Kunshan AUO’s sixth-generation low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) LCD panel expansion project has a total investment of US$1.8 billion. This production line is the world's highest-generation LTPS (low-temperature polysilicon) panel line owned by Kunshan AUO. It is the LTPS panel factory with the most advanced process technology and production equipment in the world. The expansion project was launched in February last year.

Suzhou Huaxing Optoelectronics high-end LCD project, with a total investment of 2.7 billion yuan, mainly produces 15.62-inch-34-inch monitors and TFT-LCD display modules for TVs. After completion, the annual production capacity will be 30 million pieces. The project was capped at the end of August last year. The project was previously expected to be put into production in March this year.
