Samsung smart glasses exposed, MicroLED version may be released in 2027

Recently, foreign media exposed renderings of Samsung’s smart glasses product Galaxy Glasses. This device focuses on a thin and light design that can be worn daily. The appearance style refers to Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses and Google Gemini glasses, aiming to create a fashionable form similar to ordinary sunglasses.

According to details provided by industry tipsters, Samsung is currently developing smart glasses codenamed Jinju and Haean in parallel.

Samsung will be the first to release the basic version of AI glasses in 2026. This version is not equipped with a Micro LED display and weighs only about 50 grams, which greatly improves wearing comfort. In terms of specifications, it will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 processor, a 155mAh battery, a Sony 12-megapixel camera, and a photochromic lens that can automatically adjust the light transmittance according to the light environment.

This basic version of the glasses will be developed based on the Android XR platform and deeply integrates Gemini AI capabilities. Users can perform real-time translation, check the weather, call Google Maps navigation or take photos and records through voice commands, thereby reducing dependence on the mobile phone screen.

In order to increase the fashion sense of the product, Samsung has also cooperated with well-known brands such as Warby Parker and Gentle Monster to provide a variety of frame options.

The more advanced version of AR glasses is codenamed Haean. This model will be equipped with a Micro LED display, which can provide a richer visual enhancement experience. However, this high-end product is not expected to officially debut until 2027, targeting higher-end AR application scenarios.

In terms of pricing strategy, the price range of AI glasses released in 2026 is expected to be between US$379 and US$499 (approximately RMB 2,586 ~ 3,404 yuan); while the price of the Micro LED high-end version to be launched in 2027 may fall between US$600 and US$900 (approximately RMB 4,093 ~ 6,140 yuan).

By launching a lightweight AI assistant first and then focusing on the Micro LED flagship, Samsung is trying to build a complete matrix of smart wearable products in the rapidly heating XR market.
