Jiangxi’s first provincial optoelectronic laboratory project is undergoing pre-approval announcement

Recently, the Nanchang Municipal Bureau of Natural Resources and Planning made a pre-approval announcement on the Nanchang laboratory project construction project planning permit. The Nanchang laboratory project construction project is the Nanchang Yaohu Science Island Phase I project, which is located to the west of Science and Technology 1st Road and south of Keyuan South 3rd Road, Yaohu Science Island, Nanchang High-tech Zone. The publicity date is until January 9, 2024.

This project is located in Nanchang High-tech Zone, with the land area to the west of Science and Technology 1st Road, Yaohu Science Island, and to the south of Keyuan South 3rd Road. The total land area is about 140 acres. The total construction area of the project is 127,020.65 square meters. It is planned to build a new comprehensive building, an epitaxial chip manufacturing plant, a packaging application manufacturing plant, an industrial incubation center, a headquarters, a student apartment, a staff apartment (including an indoor sports hall), a canteen, an ancillary building, a factory center (including a power plant, a hydrogen station, a Category A and B warehouse, a wastewater treatment station, an ammonia station, and a nitrogen station), a doorman, etc.

The reporter learned that in April 2023, Jiangxi officially launched the construction of the first provincial laboratory, the Compound Semiconductor Jiangxi Provincial Laboratory (Nanchang Laboratory), based on the National Silicon-based LED Engineering Technology Research Center, providing key support for the high-quality development of the optoelectronic industry in Jiangxi Province. The center's "Silicon Substrate Blue Light-Emitting Diode" project, led by Jiang Fengyi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, won the first prize of the 2015 National Technology Invention Award.
