Huacan Optoelectronics completes delivery of small batch Micro LED pixel devices

Recently, Huacan Optoelectronics has completed the delivery of small batches of Micro LED pixel devices to leading domestic display companies, and is expected to complete additional deliveries in the near future. This means that Huacan Optoelectronics has the capability to deliver Micro LED pixel devices in batches, both in terms of technology and production capacity.

Micro LED chips are smaller light-emitting components than Mini LED chips. Equipped with Micro LED chips, it is possible to make panels thinner and lighter. Its self-luminous technology, perfect black, superior color display, and wider viewing angles have significant advantages, making Micro LED chips that no longer rely on organic compounds more widely used. However, the large-size application of Micro LED chips is still limited by mass transfer technology. Micro LED pixel devices can greatly reduce the difficulty of using Micro LED chips, solve the problem of high yield control in large areas, and provide high consistency, contrast and low-cost chip solutions, with broad application space.

As one of the earliest companies in China to carry out research and development of Mini/Micro LED chip technology, Huacan Optoelectronics has formed a first-mover advantage by relying on long-term technology accumulation. Micro LED chip products have passed the verification of many leading companies in terms of wavelength uniformity, performance, yield, etc.; Micro LED pixel devices also achieved a breakthrough in October 2022, realizing upper-screen lighting; micro-display screens for AR near-eye display use the industry's most advanced wafer integration process, and samples have achieved dynamic screen display.

In November 2022, Huacan Optoelectronics launched a new round of private placement plan, issuing 372,070,935 shares to BOE at a price of 5.6 yuan per share, of which 1.75 billion yuan will be invested in the Micro LED wafer manufacturing and packaging testing base project. As of today, the private placement plan is progressing smoothly.

Relevant organizations predict that the Micro LED chip market size is expected to grow from approximately US$14 million in 2022 to approximately US$32 million in 2023. Micro LED, recognized by the industry as the "ultimate display technology", is bound to become a battleground for military strategists.
